Width: 20 cm. Height: 16 cm. Height including handles: 26 cm.
15 stitches in 10 cm of stockinette stitch.
I used a 4,5 mm needle. Use a yarn you like and matching needles. Remember that if you gauge is different then mine the size of the bag will change. You'll also need double pointed needles in a slightly smaller size.

Change to double pointed needles, preferably in a slightly smaller size that the needles you used for the body of the bag.
Put one group of stitches on scarp yarn on one needle, pick up 5 more stitches and knit in the round for 32 rounds, put the stitches on scrap yarn.
Repeat with the remaining groups of stitches on scrap yarn.
Sew the handles together using the grafting method. Also called the Kitchener Stitch, for instructions go here:
Stretch and pin the bag down in a rectangle. Steam and press dry thru a double cloth.
Fold right side in and sew sides togheter. Fold and press the stockinette stitch edges to the inside. Sew a lining of fabric and put in the bag. Pin and sew the stockinette stitch edge over the lining. If you want to, sew on a button or two and make a loop!
